Order of the President of the People’s Republic of China

The Decision of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress on Annulling Some Laws, adopted at the 9th Meeting of the Standing Committee of the Eleventh National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China on June 27, 2009, is hereby promulgated and shall come into effect as of the date of promulgation.

Decision of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress on Annulling Some Laws

(Adopted at the 9th Meeting of the Standing Committee of the Eleventh National People’s Congress on June 27, 2009)

At its 9th Meeting, the Standing Committee of the Eleventh National People’s Congress decided to annul the following laws and decisions on legal issues:

1. Regulations on the Organization of Local Police Station (adopted at the 4th Meeting of the Standing Committee of the First National People’s Congress on December 31, 1954)

2. Regulations on the Organization of Urban Neighborhood Office (adopted at the 4th Meeting of the Standing Committee of the First National People’s Congress on December 31, 1954)

3. Regulations on Application for Use of the State-owned Wasteland and Barren Hills by Overseas Chinese (adopted at the 20th Meeting of the Standing Committee of the First National People’s Congress on August 6, 1955)

4. Resolution of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Approving the “Measures of the State Council for the Establishment of Schools with Donations of Overseas Chinese” and Measures of the State Council for the Establishment of Schools with Donations of Overseas Chinese (adopted at the 78th Meeting of the Standing Committee of the First National People’s Congress on August 1, 1957)

5. Decision of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress on Authorizing the State Council to Reform the System of Industrial and Commercial Taxes and Issue Relevant Draft Tax Regulations for Trial Application (adopted at the 7th Meeting of the Standing Committee of the Sixth National People’s Congress on September 18, 1984)

6. Supplementary Provisions of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Regarding the Imposition of Punishment in Respect of Offences of Tax Evasion and Refusal to Pay Tax (adopted at the 27th Meeting of the Standing Committee of the Seventh National People’s Congress on September 4, 1992)

7. Provisions of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress on Strengthening Inspection and Supervision of Law Enforcement (adopted at the 3rd Meeting of the Standing Committee of the Eighth National People’s Congress on September 2, 1993)

8. Supplementary Provisions of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress on the Severe Punishment of the Crimes of Organizing or Transporting Other Person(s) to Illegally Cross the National Border (Frontier) (adopted at the 6th Meeting of the Standing Committee of the Eighth National People’s Congress on March 5, 1994)

This Decision shall come into effect as of the date of promulgation.
